Development of Bronchi and Lungs
- Beginning of the 5th week, the right and left primary bronchial buds are form by the division of the respiratory bud which later form the secondary and subsequently will forms lobar, segmental and intrasegmental branches. It grows caudally and laterally towards the narrow pericardioperitoneal canals.
- The size of the main right bronchus is larger and more vertical compared to the left main bronchus.
- The superior secondary bronchus of the right lung will supplies the upper lobe of the lung and the inferior secondary bronchus further subdivide to supplies the middle and inferior lobe. The secondary bronchus of the left lung subdivides and supplies the upper and lower lobes.
